So you’ve trained yourself to always carry your reusable water bottle anywhere you go, eliminating the need to invest in the evil single-use disposable plastic bottles of water. But unless your city is full of public drinking fountains, finding a place to refill isn’t always the easiest. New Yorkers however are finding that scouting out free H2O refills is as simple as looking for a TapIt sticker on a cafe window.
TapIt is a network of cafe owners, launched last month, who allow people to come in and get free access to drinking water in order to refill their bottles. You even have access to a virtual map that shows all of the H2O hot spots around the city. And TapIt is so plugged in that there’s even an iPhone app, allowing you to track down places to refill while on the go. Drinking tap water was never so easy.
